The seven part series about Therapeutic Touch “Conversation about what Therapeutic Touch is” is done and ready for viewing. I am so happy and proud of our achievement!
It took a little bit longer to edit the raw footage than I was planning, but I wanted to be sure that the most important information will be properly included. It took several months to work closely with Albedo Video Production as I couldn’t do it in a one session. It was a busy period of time for me.
But now I am happy to invite you to view my YouTube channel to watch these short videos. They are done as a conversation between three Therapeutic Touch practitioners from London, Ontario area. The purpose of the series was to bring closer to people and promote this beautiful energy healing technique.
This series is especially close to my heart as my teacher and mentor, Jitka Malec who helped me to achieve the goal of making this video about Therapeutic Touch, died last month, in July of 2016. I dedicate this series to her.
At the start of May I was helping an elderly couple to pack their life into four large suitcases. So many memories were left behind. So many items … Not long time ago they went through a similar process. There were nine suitcases instead of four at that time. And now they have less, but not really, as they have still each other. Years ago they prepared everything to be ready for their golden years. It felt good to be in control. Everything was in order. And suddenly, when their health deteriorated, the decision was made to improve their situation for the better; to make their life easier.
There were so many choices…
And the choice made by them was not a bad one, but the outcome was slightly different than they expected. It was too hard for them to see a positive side in it and they moved on to another place, which hopefully will fulfill their physical needs.
It was a strong reminder for me that there is also other side of our life.
It is so important to find a joy in a moment; in what we have now, but not only the material part. Things will come and go. And they will become less and less important closer to the time when we will not need any of them at all.
Finding a joyful moment in any situation and catching it …
But sometimes it is so hard …
Sky is the limit. Go and get every joyful moment possible; they are like stars in the sky …
Always I wait to write a blog till an inspiration will come. I was wondering what I am going to write about this month. And here it is.
Few days ago I was very much involved emotionally in helping and supporting my friend to get a job which fits exactly what she loves to do. The goal was on the horizon, visible, you could almost touch it …
I had a very vivid image in my mind of her achieving that goal and having a job which will bring her a satisfaction. I was so sure that this was an ideal match, I could feel it. Her goal and that job. In a short time some big obstacles showed up and my friend felt that there was no other way, but to change the course of her journey for now; to put everything about that goal aside, for later …
I tried to suggest different options, solutions, thinking out of the box, and wanting badly for her to succeed. I just couldn’t understand why she decided to not pursue that goal; especially that she was far on her way to achieve it. Almost there …
At first, I didn’t see it, as nobody can see the whole picture better than the person whose that journey is. I meditated on it and suddenly it hit me. There is nothing wrong with her decision. It is me who has to “let it go”. It was my vision, not hers and it was me who felt that timing was good, not her. I could almost hear: “Let it go”.
I am thankful for that lesson. We go through our life believing that what we see is a reality, but the truth is that it is our reality, not somebody else. By learning the art of letting go, we accept that there can be other way, other path to choose, in our or somebody’s journey.
What is this ‘power within’? When I felt a need to offer a workshop ‘The Lioness Within’, I was not sure about details, but I knew that it is an important subject to address. Every person has an inner power, the energy pushing us forward to action and the ability of understanding our worth. But through centuries expectations from society and the way of our upbringing helped us to forget about how important it is for our well-being to recognize and accept that power within.
The model of what is best for us was skewed by needs of society; what kind of a worker, a husband, a wife, and even a student you are supposed to be. There was not a lot of freedom of choice; if you wanted to be a ‘good boy’ or a ‘good girl’ you were fulfilling the society expectancy. Everybody who was trying to be different was labeled a rebel and was frowned upon by the society.
You could have your own style, yes, but only in the boundaries of what was expected from you. Especially from the time of industrial revolution schools were expected to produce good workers for factories; to push forward the need of material goods. More stuff, newer, smarter, which supposed to make us happier.
Maybe it is strange that I am talking about that now, but this is part of the problem. We are not supposed to be just good, productive workers during our life who are surrounded by more toys or gadgets. There is more to our lives than that. But we forgot why we are here on this journey. It is so easy to believe in the illusion of our great need of stuff.
We often wonder why we feel that something is missing and we try to find happiness like some kind of mythical animal. And the big part of being happy is rediscovering our inner power. When we can feel it, understand it, and accept it, we are much happier with our life. As we know at that point that there is no barriers which can stop us to achieve whatever we want. That it is in our power to go in whichever direction we desire. It is our choice.
It is time to awake; to understand that every one of us can reconnect with our power within and believe in it.
To be a fearless speaker! Here, I just said that and now I will keep myself accountable to not let go of any opportunity to do a public speech or presentation. I have so much to share, to motivate, to help with moving forward!
It feels like time is speeding up. Now it is almost February and we can remember vividly a New Year celebration with a green grass sprinkled with snow here and there. We live not day by day, but week by week now. Do you feel it in the air? Changes are happening much faster now, especially with an access to the internet.
It is amazing how, if you focus your mind on something, opportunities are starting Continue reading →
